(Minneapolis, Minn.) The Mirandola Ensemble today announced an upcoming concert as part of the 2016 Twin Cities Early Music Festival: “The Veil and the Thorn”, a collaboration with Lumina, taking place on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in St. Paul. The concert will feature Medieval and Renaissance polyphonic settings of Marian texts including Praetorius, Mouton, Sheppard, Josquin, and Guerrero.

The concert, led by Artistic Director and tenor Nick Chalmers, will feature ensemble members Angela Grundstad (soprano), Clara Osowski (alto), Andrew Kane (baritone), Matthew Culloton (bass), and Chris Foss (bass).
The Mirandola Ensemble, established in 2011, is a Minneapolis-based professional choral ensemble dedicated to promoting the highest standards of choral music, the idea of choral music as ‘high art’ in the Western tradition, and the aesthetics of the Renaissance.
