The Mirandola Ensemble today announced two upcoming dates for its new Advent program: “O Come, Divine Messiah: Songs for Advent”, a collaboration with the Chamber Singers of Chesterton Academy. The concerts will take place on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis; and on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Louis Park.

“O Come, Divine Messiah” will feature motets and carols of Renaissance greats Orlando di Lasso, Hans Leo Hassler, and Johannes Eccard; as well as early American shape note and Shaker songs; and music of 20th century composers Phillip Lawson and Mitchell Southall. The concerts will feature the following performers: Angela Grundstad (soprano), Carrie Shaw (soprano), Clara Osowski (mezzo soprano), Nick Chalmers (tenor and Artistic Director), Andrew Kane (baritone), and Matthew Culloton (bass).
The Mirandola Ensemble, established in 2011, is a Minneapolis-based professional choral ensemble dedicated to promoting the highest standards of choral music, the idea of choral music as ‘high art’ in the Western tradition, and the aesthetics of the Renaissance. The ensemble is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization and was recently announced as a 2017-2018 Class Notes Artist for Minnesota Public Radio.
